I am a practicing Eye specialist doctor- an Ophthalmologist. If the hospital passes their strict quality checks, then they get the “seal of quality approval” from JCI. Everyone at the hospital from the cashiers to the housekeepers to the nurses and doctors spoke good English and made me feel right at home. My son, who was with me even said the hospital food was delicious.
The budget hotel we were staying at New Delhi was a small, clean and peaceful hotel facing a park and an adjoining church which always provided me with a divine grace of health and peace, i enjoyed my morning and evening walks with flowers, birds, butterflies, tall tress and a pleasant weather. After my initial query and receiving all the details, my Bariatric surgeon started answering to my queries and concerns on my Lap Band surgery which made me feel very relaxed and confident. In New Delhi, my guardian angel Life Smile made sure that me and my sister have everything we needed, from all the private car transfers, hospital appointment, comfortable accommodation, medicines, food, well, everything, and always with a big smile. On the day before the surgery I was received by the surgery team at the hospital for consultations, examinations, pre-surgery tests and some "before" photographs.

I was very relaxed on the day of the surgery because I knew in details all that was about to be performed during the procedure, I was so prepared for it that I couldn't wait any longer. I have definitely been blessed in India. I went to India to have Laparoscopic Surgery and the doctors and staff there are some of the most caring people I've ever been around. The doctors there are great, each doctor I've seen there was very supportive and kind to me. Some of the medical tests I had to have done before surgery were very scary, but focusing on all the comfort and compassion shown by the doctors the tests were a lot easier. I have a fear of hospitals but in India it doesn't seem like a hospital. They treat you like family. They are always there before you need them. Most of the people were very helpful to me before and after surgery.
Life Smile has been more than helpful to me since the first day I arrived in India. Actually, I think Life Smile went way overboard in helping me. I encountered a problem because I mistakenly brought a cashier check instead of bringing travelers checks and I became depressed because I could not use that cashier's check in India. Life Smile was so caring and concerned on this and I know they did not have to be. Life Smile stuck with me while getting my situation resolved. I was going through so much in India because I was having problems behind problems. I had, emotionally, given up on having surgery but Life Smile never gave up. Life Smile always tried to lift my spirit and keeping me from feeling discouraged. Life Smile stuck with me until everything was final.
The hotel was a generous stay, nice and quiet. They brought free breakfast every morning and have round-the-clock room service. After I had my surgery, they prepared the special medically recommended meals and as advised, brought it to my room each hour.
